Washington at Carolina

This is the first meeting of the season and Carolina will attempt to slow down the red-hot Capitals, who have won three in a row. Carolina lost at Montreal 6-4 on on Thursday night as Petr Mrazek allowed five of the goals and Scott Darling will be back in net and will try to improve on a 3.14 goals-against average. Washington goalie Braden Holtby comes off two wins, however, he allowed 10 goals in the two games prior as the Caps lost to Anaheim and Vegas by a combined score of 11-8. Holtby owns a 2.81 GAA and .913 save percentage. There is value in the the home underdog in this matchup, so go with the Hurricanes.
