Washington at Calgary

This is the third straight road game for Washington. The Captials' offense is not off to a strong start at #15 in the NHL in goals scored, #23 on the power play. The Capitals are just 3-for-21 on the power play in the first seven games. The defense, though, is still dynamite - sixth in goals allowed and are off a 5-2 win at Vancouver last night, allowing 25 shots. The Capitals have allowed 30 of fewer shots in all seven games. Washington is 17-8-1 UNDER the total after scoring five goals or more. The Calgary Flames have turned their fortunes around by playing some defense, winning three straight games while allowing a total of five goals. And that was against a pair of the best teams in the league in Chicago and St. Louis (twice). The Calgary offense is just 4-for-35 with the man advantage, slipping to #27 on the power play. With Washington 5-0-1 UNDER the total when playing on no days rest, look for more defense than offense. This one stays UNDER the total.
