Washington at Boston

The Boston Bruins earned the most points last year in the NHL, winning the Presidents' Trophy. This is an explosive offense that scored 261 goals last season, tops in the Eastern Conference, and I expect a breakout after a pair of mediocre offensive performances in their first two games. Washington suffered a shootout loss in their opener, and it looks to be status quo as last season they saw 28 of their games, a league high, go to overtime. Boston is dominant on home ice where they were 31-7-3 last season, and while their offense has yet to break out, Washington squandered many opportunities in their opener, taking the first 13 shots of the game, and still losing. They will need to muster more than that against a strong opponent that plays and scores well at home. Play on Boston.
