The Bruins had their best season a year ago since their glory days of the 70s, and were just a couple years removed from a last place finish, so things have changed fast in Boston. Their 116 points was the most in 37 years. The Bruins had a lot of players having career years last season, and they had one of the deepest rosters in the NHL which kept them from stepping down after a key injury. The Capitals are a talented team on both ends of the ice, with many capable scorers, but the big question for them is in the net. Semyon Varlamov is a talented Russian at 21-years-old will get a try, but is he ready? If not, then Jose Theodore will have to be behind the net. The Bruins dropped just six games at home all season a year ago, and should be equally equipped to protect home ice again. The Caps have struggled here for quite some time at just 2-10-2 in Boston in the last 14 matchups. Home has been good to the Bruins, so I like them in the opener.
