Vegas won its fifth in six games by shutting out Carolina 4-0 on Saturday night with newly-acquired Jonathan Quick stopping 33 shots for the Golden Knights, who will probably start Jiri Patera tonight in his first NHL game. Patera was 12-13-1 with a 2.66 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in the AHL this season. St. Louis beat Columbus 5-2, but the Blues still have lost seven of their past 10 games and Vegas won the last meeting 5-4 in a shootout on Dec. 23. Jordan Binnington is expected in net for the Blues and he has suffered a rough patch lately with a 1-5-2 record his past eight starts and his GAA has ballooned to 3.31. The OVER is 15-5-2 when the Golden Knights allowed fewer than two goals their previous game and the OVER is 12-4-1 the past 17 meetings with St. Louis. The Blues are 23-7-3 OVER after giving up two or fewer goals and they have lost nine of 12 versus the Western Conference. Play the Golden Knights and the OVER.
