Vegas got a much-needed 3-2 shootout win over Columbus on Tuesday with rookie Paul Cotter scoring the winning goal and Logan Thompson had 26 saves through overtime for the Golden Knights. It broke a two-game losing streak for the Knights, who lead the Western Conference with 35 points as they take on Pittsburgh, which has lost two straight, including a 3-2 overtime loss to Carolina two nights ago. Thompson is 12-4-0 with a 2.44 goals-against average and .921 save percentage as he continues to improve after taking over late last season due to injuries to Vegas' other starting goalies. Tristan Jarry is probable in net for the Penguins, who have lost five of their past six home games and five of six overall versus Pacific Division teams.
