Vancouver at Dallas

Vancouver has balance and talent, knocking off the mighty Canadiens the last game, 5-1. They did it with defense, now ranked sixth in the NHL in goals allowed and penalty killing. Vancouver has killed off 22 of 25 penalties (88%). They're 3-0-0 on the road leaning on that strong defense, on a 5-2-1 run UNDER the total, including 4-1-1 UNDER when playing on one day of rest. Vancouver's defense is at 2.0 goals per game with Ryan Miller in net for all nine contests. They will need that defense against Dallas, a team they have lost seven in a row against scoring just nine goals in those contests. Dallas is a young team that is talented on offense but they have vastly upgraded the defense this season. The Stars' defense gets a boost tonight as defenseman Jason Demers returns from a two-game suspension for elbowing Pittsburgh's Nick Bonino on October 22.
