The New York Islanders were slow out of the gate last season as they owned just eight wins through December 9th. They have already won four times in five games, but after a 4-0 start they were silenced in their last game at home vs. Pittsburgh 3-1. The quick start has held the line down here as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs who have opened the season with success on the road where they are 1-0-1 to start the season. Toronto has been a vastly improved team in killing penalties as the Maple Leafs have ranked #28 or worse in every season since 2007-08. They have moved up to #13 in the early going this season, and it will make them a much tougher out.
