The Maple Leafs have not gotten out to the kind of start they would have liked, and sit at a dismal 1-7-3 through 11 games. There are signs that this team is beginning to get it together however, and the last three have been proof positive. After being uncompetitive by dropping five straight by two goals or more, the Leafs won a game and followed with a couple of narrow misses. They dropped their last two in OT, so the last three have been much different than what came before them. The Canadiens have been the typical breakeven team and at 6-7 have displayed exactly that. They opened up hot with a pair of OT wins then dropped five in a row. They won four in a row, and now are sliding again, losing their last two by a combined score of 9-3. The key here is catching the Canadiens at the right or wrong time and the Leafs are catching them on the down swing. This is also the Canadiens fourth game in six nights where they have dropped four straight. The Leafs get the call here.
