These teams have both been flirting around the .500 mark on the season, not able to get anything sustained going. The Maple Leafs went through an 11-game stretch where their offense got hot netting 44 goals for a clip of four per outing. They have since cooled off dramatically as they have scored just 16 in their last six for 2.67 per game - a full goal and a third less. The Kings have played through their first 22 games having not topped the three-goal mark in 15 of them (68% of the time) and just twice in their last nine. They have also limited their opponents to more than three just twice in the last 11 games or 18% of the time. The Mapleleafs are not scoring like they were earlier. As pointed out, the Kings aren't yielding or scoring more than three very often themselves which puts value on playing this high total on the UNDER, and that's my call here. The Kings’ inconsistencies are extremely evident in the fact that they have produced a 20-43 record after allowing two goals or less in their previous game. They have also posted an equally poor mark of 16-37 in their last 53 games after scoring five goals in their last game. That combines for a money-burning 36-83 or 30.2% winning rate - both active for this one. This puts a lot of value on the Mapleleafs as a live dog here, so they get the call along with the UNDER.
