Goalie Alex Lyon will make his first appearance for the Red Wings after being acquired in the offseason. Lyon was a major factor in getting Florida into the playoffs last season with a great run late in the season and he finished 9-4-2 with a .914 save percentage and 2.89 goals-against average. The Maple Leafs have been off since Saturday when it defeated Vancouver 5-2 for only their third win in eight games. This game is being played in Sweden as part of the Global Series. Toronto last played on Saturday when it beat Vancouver 5-2 and the Maple Leafs are 1-4 after allowing two or fewer goals their previous game.
