This is a key battle for first place in the Central Division between St. Louis and Nashville. Nashville has home ice, but not a strong offense at #18 in goals scored and #28 in on the power play. That offense failed them the last game in a 2-1 loss at Carolina, and the Predators are 8-21 at home against a team with a winning road record. St. Louis has a great defense (#3 in goals allowed) and plenty of offensive punch at #10 on the power play. It's a big night for St. Louis as goalie Martin Brodeur will be in net, the NHL's all-time leader in wins and shutouts. St. Louis signed Brodeur to a one-year deal Tuesday to add depth. The Blues are on a 14-5 run, plus 8-2 against the Western Conference. St. Louis matches up very well and the Blues are 7-1 against Nashville, including 6-0 in the last six meetings in Nashville. St. Louis gets this one.
