St. Louis is loaded with depth, defense and talent, and off to a strong start again. They are fifth in goals allowed, fourth in penalty killing and #10 on the power play. St. Louis has dropped two in a row scoring only one goal in each game, but there's no cause for alarm as the Blues outshot Edmonton the last game 35-22. The Blues are on a 20-9 run on the road, plus 20-7 away against a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400. Calgary is a terrible defensive team again, #25 in goals allowed after ranking #28 last season, allowing 4.00 per game. Calgary is coming off a 4-2 home-ice loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday. New head coach Glen Gulutzan is frustrated already by their poor start, as is new #1 goalie Brian Elliott, who is 0-3 and gave up three goals on his first 13 shots the last game. The Flames started 3-8-1 last October and don't look any better. With the Blues winning six of the last seven meetings, grab the deep and balanced visitors who have a huge edge defensively.
