Nashville finished 20 points better than San Jose in 2021-22 and was the second wild-card team in the Western Conference, but its starting goalie Juuse Saros was out with an injury and the Predators were swept by the eventual Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche. The Predators were led by Roman Josi, who scored 96 points and Matt Duchene had 43 goals and 86 points. Saros went 38-25-3 with a 2.64 goals-against average and .918 save percentage with four shutouts. He has recovered from the ankle injury and started Friday's preseason game against Tampa Bay and stopped 27 of 28 shots in a 7-1 victory. The Sharks come off a miserable season that led to the firing of coach Bob Boughner and replacing him with former New York Rangers head coach David Quinn. San Jose was #30 in the league with 214 goals and they still don't have much depth past the first line. Defenseman Brent Burns is now with Carolina and the starting goalie will either be James Reimer or Kaapo Kahkonen. The Sharks have lost the last four meetings by a combined score of 15-2. The game is being played in Prague. Take the Predators.
