It has been a long time since the Columbus Blue Jackets have been competitive in the NHL. This season looks to be another long ride, as they have dropped three straight games and are just 3-7-2 to start the season. They have allowed 3 goals or more in their last nine, while scoring 3 or more just two times since opening the season, so you can see the problem. The Sharks have failed to record a win in each of their last four, despite holding three of the opponents to 2 goals or less. I look for the defense to continue to be solid, while the offense gets healthy against a pour Columbus defense. Columbus is just 35-81 in their last 116, having seen a lot of teams get healthy against them. Play on San Jose.
