San Jose at Colorado

This is the end of a great five-game road trip for San Jose, on a 14-5 run. They come off a 6-3 win at St. Louis, one point behind Anaheim and very much in striking distance of first-place Los Angeles. San Jose has an excellent offense, fourth in goals scored, third in goals allowed. St. Louis just added veteran defenseman Roman Polak and forward Nick Spaling from Toronto for second-round picks in 2017 and 2018 and forward Raffi Torres. Joe Thornton, Logan Couture and Tomas Hertl each had two goals Monday as the Sharks improved to 5-1-1 in their last seven games and 21-9-2 on the road. The Sharks are 78-34 when their opponent allows five goals or more in their previous game and this Colorado team is off a 5-1 loss to Vancouver. Colorado is home but flawed, #15 in goals scored, #21 in goals allowed and penalty killing. And the Sharks are 35-17 in the last 52 meetings. Back San Jose.
