The Pittsburgh Penguins started the season with eyes on the big prize - a Stanley Cup Championship. Their 8-2-1 start has them heading in the right direction. The Penguins have been sizzling with five straight wins and have recorded three shutouts in the five games. The Jets are feeling pretty good about themselves as well, as they have notched three straight victories of their own, and have won five of their last six. The only blemish is a tough 2-1 overtime loss on the road, and they have done most of their damage on the road, and will be fired up to take on a strong Pittsburgh team on home ice. The Jets know a bit about shutouts themselves as they have logged a pair in their last three games, allowing just a single goal in their last three. These teams are both playing lights-out on the defensive end, and on a high level overall. The Jets have proven to be tough when they have things going on the defensive end, where they are 4-0 in their last four after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Pittsburgh has played four straight to the UNDER on a day of rest, while standing on equal ground on a day of rest, the Flames have played eight of their last nine to the UNDER as well. This appears to be a hard-fought game going to the wire, and I think the home team will have the incentive here to deliver the "A" game against a formidable opponent. This one goes to Calgary and also stays UNDER.
