You have to give credit to the Pittsburgh Penguins. They could have packed it in falling down in the series two games to none. but they came back with two identical scores of 4-2, to even the series. But, can they win in Detroit? Don't bet on it. The talking heads are making a big deal about how tired the Red Wings are and how the Penguins now have confidence. So what? Weaker teams may fold under the pressure of losing two straight by multiple goals. But Detroit is not a weak team. This game is in Detroit where the Red Wings won games one and two by two goals each. This is essentially a must-win for Detroit so they will be ready. Let's not forget that Detroit is 37-15 at home this season while Pittsburgh actually owns a losing record on the road. Against disciplined teams like Detroit (teams that averaged four or less power plays per game), Pittsburgh is 5-14 on the road. Detroit is 56-18 over the past three seasons at home vs. winning teams. That includes a 14-2 mark this season vs. teams that outscore their opponents by 0.3+ goals per game. Under Mike Babcock, this team is 45-19 as a home favorite of up to -200. We were on the Red Wings in games one and two and we're back on them here.
