Pittsburgh has outstanding balance, No. 13 in the NHL in goals allowed, No. 3 in penalty killing, No. 7 on the power play and sixth in goals scored. All of that was on display yesterday in an impressive 6-4 win at the Flyers. The Penguins not only killed a 5-on-4 and a 5-on-3 on the same power play, but scored twice shorthanded to turn the game around. The Penguins are 12-4 in their last 16 overall, have a winning road record and are 45-15 in their last 60 vs. a team with a losing record. And they face a last place Buffalo team that is terrible at both ends of the ice, No. 25 in goals scored, No. 22 in goals allowed. Buffalo is 4-9 in their last 13 vs. a team with a winning record, 8-20 in their last 28 against the Eastern Conference. And they can't be trusted even in the role of underdog, as the Sabres are 7-19 in their last 26 games as a dog. The Penguins are 16-5 in the last 21 meetings, so Play Pittsburgh.
