Philadelphia at Boston

It is hard to believe, but the NHL season is upon us as the journey for the Stanley Cup begins tonight. Philadelphia looks to avert the poor start from last season that saw this club at 1-7 through eight games. The Flyers ultimately recovered to make the playoffs, but were ousted in the first round in seven games. They have a bigger motive tonight as they lost all three matches to the Bruins last year by a combined score of 15-6. Boston lost a key cog to their attack as Jarome Iginla and his 30 goals from last season have departed to Colorado. They also lost a key piece on the defensive end in Johnny Boychuk who was traded to the Islanders. Boston may have the better team here, but they have to get all the changes sorted out. The Flyers are the more motivated team to cleanse the bad taste of three losses from last year, and get out of the gate quicker this season. And, Boston has never been a good bet at home. Over the past 17 years, they are -71 units as a home favorite. This is a good spot for the Flyers, so take them tonight.
