Ottawa has played better than their 5-5 record would indicate. And, they are heating up. They are scoring 3.3 goals per game on the season while allowing just 2.3. With that one goal per game discrepancy, their record should be better. Over the past five games they have won by an average score of 4.6 to 1.8. So why is their record over that span just 3-2? They put up two offensive stinkers against Colorado and Boston. They held both of those clubs to just 2 goals but couldn't win. On the season, they have allowed more than 2 goals just twice! And they have scored 4+ goals four times. Things will even out over the long haul but right now we have value on them as people look at their record and think they are average. They are better than average. Monthreal, meanwhile, while scoring a lot, has a terrible defense that's allowing 3.3 per game and 4.2 per game at home. Take the team playing better here, at the small price.
