Ottawa at Buffalo

Ottawa ended last season on a high note winning five of its final six games, and the Senators expect more improvement this year with the additions of Alex DeBrincat and Claude Giroux. The Senators are determined to get off to a fast start after they lost 16 of their first 20 games in 2021-22 and never really recovered. Ottawa will be stronger in net as it picked up Cam Talbot, who will back up Anton Forsberg to start the season. Forsberg was 22-17-4 with a 2.82 goals-against average and .917 save percentage last season. Buffalo is picked to finish near the bottom in the Atlantic Division and its situation in net is not as optimistic as Ottawa's and Craig Anderson will start tonight after compiling a 17-12-2 record and 3.12 GAA last year. Ottawa has won five of the last six meetings and the Sabres are 23-47 their past 70 games versus the Atlantic Division. Take the Senators.
