After opening the season 2-0, the Washington Capitals dropped three straight but have now gotten back on track with two wins in their last three. The Rangers are 2-2 on the season but have dropped two straight games in ugly fashion as nothing is working for them right now. The pair of losses were each uncompetitive games as the margin in each was -3. The Washington Capitals' leading scorer has 14 points and that is from a defenseman, John Carlson. Carlson set a career-high with 70 points a year ago and appears to be stepping up.
