Washington got what it wanted, a split in New York, and now heads home for Game 3. Even in a Game 2 loss the Capitals were in at all the way, with almost the same number of shots. They outshot New York in the final two periods, 16-12 and 12-8. Even in defeat, Alexander Ovechkin produced the goal of the weekend, squeezing through two opposing players and falling to his stomach while whipping a wrist shot past New York goalie Henrik Lundqvist. He has four goals and four assists in these playoffs. Washington has great talent and balance at sixth in the NHL in goals scored, tops on the power play, and seventh in goals allowed.
