The Toronto Maple Leafs have been the surprise team to start the 2010 season. The Maple Leafs had the dubious distinction of finishing with the fewest points a year ago in the Eastern Conference at just 74 points. They are out of the gate a flawless 4-0 to start the season, so where is the success coming from? It starts at the defensive end of the ice, and the Maple Leafs allowed an Eastern Conference high a year ago at 267 goals against, but that number sits at just 9 through four games, or 2.25 per contest. Those numbers have been even better at home, allowing just 3 in the two played in Toronto. The Islanders enter at 2-1-2 and are off to a good start as well, but they are in a situation tonight that historically has seen the UNDER soar to profitability. New York is 44-20 to the UNDER playing on a single day of rest, as well as 13-3 to the UNDER vs. the Northeast. Toronto has played to an 8-2 mark to the UNDER in their last 10 at home. The last five between these clubs have seen the UNDER prevail in four of the five. This game falls short of the total in Toronto.
