The Sharks are a top 4 Western Conference team and the Islanders could finish with one of the worst records in hockey. From top to bottom San Jose is a better team. Joe Thorton, Jonathan Cheechoo, Mark Bell and goalie Vesa Toskala. Let's not forget some outstanding rookies in Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Matt Carle, who won the Hobey Baker Award last year while playing for the University of Denver. San Jose won its opener on Thursday beating St. Louis in overtime. Joe Thorton had three assist in that game and looked great. The Islanders are still looking for their first win after getting beat by the Coyotes in their season opener. We like the sharks big tonight.
