New York at Detroit

Detroit was a dominant NHL franchise for a couple of decades. Last year they finished over .500 after 5 consecutive losing seasons. They have really struggled against this Islander's team in recent years as they are an ugly 10-19 against them in the last 29 meetings. They are also just 5-9 at home in the last 14 in this series. The Islanders started slow this season, but have been playing as well as any team as they come to Detroit on a 5-game winning streak. They have out-scored those 5 opponents 23-9 and are getting it done on both ends of the ice. I like the NY Islanders in this one.
