New York snapped a three-game skid with a 3-2 victory over Ottawa on Thursday as Bo Horvat and Noah Dobson each had a goal and an assist and Ilya Sorokin stopped 45 of 47 shots for the Islanders. Sorokin is 3-1-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average and .915 save percentage with one shutout and he bounced back well after allowing five goals against Colorado two nights earlier. Columbus has played three straight overtime games and lost the last two to Anaheim and Montreal. Elvis Merzlikins is probable after allowing all four goals against the Canadiens. New York has won six of the past seven meetings and the Blue Jackets are 14-41 against Eastern Conference opponents and 17-41 versus the Metropolitan Division. Columbus has lost 44 of its past 62 games overall. Go with the Islanders.
