The Islanders' hot streak has been keyed by defense, allowing 12 goals the last six games. The offense has been inconsistent, however, #15 in goals scored, and last on the power play. They come off a 3-2 win over St. Louis as Thomas Greiss stopped 24 shots to help the Islanders improve to 5-0-1 in their last six games. Both New York goalies Jaroslav Halak and Greiss were outstanding against Columbus last season as Halak won three matchups, stopping 94 of 98 shots for a .959 save percentage, and recorded a shutout. Griess won the other two contests, giving up five goals on 44 shots. They face a terrific Columbus defense, second in the NHL in goals scored, allowing 1, 1, 2, 2, 1 and 2 goals the last six contests. John Tortorella is a defensive-first coach and Columbus doesn't know if captain Nick Foligno will play, missing the last contest due to illness. All of which means a defensive, low-scoring battle. Play the UNDER in this one.
