New Jersey has won six of eight, including 4-2 over Carolina on Thursday night when Jesper Bratt had two goals and an assist and Jack Hughes three assists to back Jacob Markstrom, who had 20 saves. The Devils have won four of five road games and five of six as road favorites of -110 to -150. Washington will be without Alex Ovechkin for several weeks and they fell to 4-14 without him since the 2021-22 season in a 2-1 loss to Colorado. Markstrom is 9-5-1 with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. New Jersey has won six of his past eight starts and he has allowed 2.0 goals per game in that span. The Capitals are likely to go with Charlie Lindgren, who is 5-4-0 this season. Take the Devils.
