This is the first meeting of the season after Carolina beat the Devils in five games in last year's Stanley Cup Playoffs. Jordan Martinook scored the eventual game winner with a breakaway goal with 2:27 left and Spencer Martin had 26 saves in his first start for Carolina after being acquired from Columbus. Antti Raanta should be back in net in this back-to-back spot and he is 10-7-2. Nico Daws is likely for New Jersey with a 3-4-0 record and 3.18 goals-against average. The Devils have lost five of eight although they do come off a 6-5 overtime win over Vegas on Monday for their second straight OVER. Six of the past eight meetings have gone OVER and Carolina is 5-1 OVER against teams that scored at least five goals their previous game. The Devils are 1-6 as road underdogs of +110 to +150 and and they have lost four of five following a win. Take the Hurricanes and the OVER.
