This is a must-win home game for the Hurricanes as they are down 3-2 to the Devils. This has been a back-and-forth series with the teams trading wins and losses. Carolina is off a loss and forward Erik Cole said Saturday that, "after a loss, we come out with more convction than we have after a win. It's at that point now where our backs are against the wall, and we're going to need great efforts from everyone to overcome this." The pressure is on and they know it and I expect them to respond as they have after the first two losses - with a win. Getting the pick past Brodeur has been been hard and will be hard again tonight. But they can do it. Carolina doesn't shrink in the face of stiff competition and tough goals. They are 13-8 in their last 21 games this season vs. winning teams and 21-15 the past three seasons vs. teams at .600 or better. This season they are 25-17 vs. teams that average 30+ shots on goal. They are 15-8 off a road loss this season and 11-5 off a 1-goal loss. I'll take Carolina to win the must-win game.
