The Edmonton Oilers have not made the playoffs since the 2005-06 season. There is some excitement in the air as first-round draft pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins recorded a hat trick in their last outing vs. Vancouver. That may be part of the problem. Despite the Nugent-Hopkins heroics, the Oilers still fell at home 4-3. Nashville is clearly the better team here and their long-term success bodes well for them in this contest. The Predators have owned Edmonton as they have now gone a collective 16-5 in the last 21 meetings, and in Edmonton they have been even better collecting the win in eight of their last 10 trips here. Coming off a pair of losses at home, the Predators will be focused here. The Oilers are just 14-37 in their last 51 posted as a dog, showing little bite, and their 25-82 mark in their last 107 vs. the Western Conference doesn't exactly point to an upset here. Nashville gets this one.
