The New York Rangers snapped a four-game winless streak and have now won two in a row. It should be noted that the four losses included two on home ice, but those were both decided in OT and both vs. opponents at the top of their respective division standings. Half of the Rangers last eight home opponents have been division leaders, so this team is that is playing better than the numbers might otherwise indicate. The Canadiens have won five straight, but are facing their most vulnerable situation here. They are 18-43 when facing an opponent who allowed 2 goals or less in their last game. They have also met a bad fate in New York, dropping six of their last seven in the Big Apple. New York gets this one.
