Montreal at New York

It has been quite some time since the New York Islanders could be cast amongst the elite in the NHL, but coming into this game at 23-10 has the island in a frenzy. New York has assumed control of home ice where they have turned in 13 wins in 16 games. The Islanders are defending very well right now, and their four-game winning streak has been spearheaded by their play on the back end of the ice, and between the pipes as they have allowed a stingy 1.5 goals a game in the current streak. Montreal is having a strong season of their own, but they have been rather ordinary on the road where they are a break-even 8-7-1, and the order of business tonight is a tall one for a team that is just 5-7 in their last dozen games. The road has been full of obstacles  for the Canadiens who are just 1-5 in their last six outside of Montreal. The Montreal offense has been stopped cold in their last six roadies where they have produced a total of just 10 goals or 1.67 per contest. The Islanders play well with momentum at 21-6 in their last 27 off a win, and have dug in on the defensive end at home where they are 8-1in their last nine to the UNDER on home ice.
