Montreal at Buffalo

Montreal had its biggest scoring outburst of the year with an 8-2 victory over Columbus on Saturday when Rafael Harvey-Pinard recorded a hat trick and Sam Montembeault had 21 saves for the Canadiens. That performance inflated the total for this game and Montreal had gone UNDER its previous two games. Buffalo has lost eight of 11 although it does come off a 2-0 win over the New York Islanders as Eric Comrie got the shutout with 26 saves and he is likely for tonight. The Sabres are unlikely to make the playoffs and they have lost five of six at home and they are just 17-37 their past 54 games in the third game of a 3-in-4 days spot. Montreal has stayed UNDER four of its past five versus a team that scored two or fewer goals its previous game and the Canadiens are 25-10-4 their past 39 Monday games.
