A tough situational spot for Minnesota, the second of a four game trip, playing at New Jersey last night. Minnesota was favored, but lost 2-1 in OT, getting three shots in the first period and six in the third period and beyond. Quiet first periods are nothing new for the Wild, who have taken just 25 of their 131 shots this season in the first period. Minnesota has five or fewer shots in the first period in four of its five games. The Wild have yet to win on the road and are 21-56 away against a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600. New York is on a five-game homestand, beating the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 on Friday. The Islanders add depth with the return of top defenseman Nick Leddy, who missed Friday's contest. The Islanders have had their way with Minnesota of late, posting a 6-2-1 record over their last nine meetings. New York is also 14-1-2 against Western Conference teams at Barclays Center. Play the New York Islanders.
