The Edmonton Oilers are probably worse than their already bad record would indicate. This team, like many poor teams over a long season, managed a good stretch where they were 7-3. The before and after has been mighty telling and ugly as well. The Oilers, outside the 7-3 stretch, are 7-27 on the season, so being posted at close to even odds certainly offers value to the other side. Minnesota broke a three-game slide with a 4-0 shutout in their last game, and the Wild have played very well on the road of late winning five of their last seven. The Oilers are 16-58 in their last 74 vs. the west and seldom find the win column. The Wild is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. All signs point to Minnesota in this one, so that’s my call.
