Los Angeles got a 4-3 win over the Coyotes on Wednesday, but it was only the second win in eight games for the Kings, who are ahead of only the Anaheim Ducks in the West Division. San Jose had a four-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday, and two of the wins came against the Kings, who have lost four straight and seven of nine to the Sharks. Los Angeles has scored a total of five goals the last four meetings. The Kings are 25-53 their past 78 games playing with one day of rest, and San Jose is 32-15 versus teams with .400 or less winning percentages.
