The most unlikely of Stanley Cup Finals clubs pit the upstart LA Kings against the New Jersey Devils. The Devils entered the playoffs as a #6 seed and dispatched of the 1, 3 and 5 seeds to get here. The Kings remarkable playoff run was all against the top three teams in the West, as they beat the 1, 2 and 3 seeds to get here. It was a great run to get here, but an even more impressive way that they got here. They beat the top three teams in the West by going 12-2, outscoring them 41-22. The 22 is not a surprise, but what has changed this club from being in every game was that they were led by a rock solid defense and there has been the improvement on the offensive end. This team once struggled to find two goals, but now is consistently at three or more per contest. The Devils have been a momentum team and the three day layoff will impact them more as they are just 2-5 when playing on three days rest in their last seven. The Kings have won eight straight on the road and have that Stanley Cup look and feel about them. Play on LA.
