I don't think that many have noticed what has happened to this Los Angeles team. Wind the clock back to the beginning of the season and this was a hapless team on the offensive end of the ice. The defense was never in question. Through the playoffs, LA has allowed more than 2 goals in just one game through 13 played. Overall in the playoffs, the Kings are allowing just 1.5 goals per game. That has allowed them to stay in a lot of games, but a sputtering offense made this team's possibilities of making it to the Stanley Cup round of the playoffs a very unlikely scenario. This is a team that produced 124 goals through their first 59 regular-season games, which is barely above 2 per contest. Then they started to put things together on the offensive end, as they have now gone 36 games scoring 110. That has made a huge difference, as the defense continues to do its thing the offense has improved by 50% from 2 per game to 3. The Coyotes are vulnerable as a home dog at just 2-5 in their last seven. The Kings have lost just 2 of 13 playoff games, and LA is also 9-4 in the last 13 meetings. This version of the Kings has it all going, so play on the Kings for my NHL Playoffs Game of the Year.
