The Florida Panthers have won three of their last four, but three of those were at home. They are not out of the gate strong on the road at just 2-1. Toronto has been an early surprise in the NHL as the Maple Leafs, who finished dead last in the Eastern Conference last year with just 74 points, are off to a 4-2-1 start. Signs of change started showing themselves late last season as the Maple Leafs allowed 2 goals or less in eight of their last 13 games, and have started this year by allowing 2 or less in four of the seven already. That makes 12 of their last 19 allowing 2 or less. The significance is that in their first 67 games last year, they held opponents to 2 or less just 15 times. A marked improvement behind the net and a commitment on the defensive end makes Toronto the choice here.
