Florida can play defense, second in the NHL in goals allowed. But the offense is slowing down, off a 4-2 loss to Dallas at home and now they start a three-game road trip. They got shut out in their first road game, 1-0 at Philly. The Panthers are 46-111-3 against a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600, plus on an 8-3-5 run UNDER the total on the road. Pittsburgh hasn't gotten anything from star Sideny Crosby yet, but his offense will come. In the meantime it hasn't mattered, riding a two-game win streak, winning 2-0 and 2-1. This Pittsburgh defense is outstanding, third in the NHL in goals allowed. Pittsburgh is off a 2-1 victory over Toronto on Saturday as Evgeni Malkin has scored in back-to-back contests to extend his point streak to three games. He also netted three goals in three meetings last season with Florida. The Penguins are 97-47 when playing on two days rest and on a 36-17-5 run UNDER the total, including 9-1-2 UNDER at home. The Penguins won both home meetings with the Panthers last season and 13 of the last 15 in the Steel City. The home team is 7-3 when these teams clash and Florida is 6-15 against the Penguins.
