Edmonton is picked by many to win it all this season after being the top-scoring team in the NHL in 2022-23. The Oilers essentially have the same club as a year ago while adding Connor Brown to join Connor McDavid, whose 153 points were the most in a single season since 1995-96, and Leon Draisaltl, who had 128 points. Stuart Skinner will be the No. 1 goalie after 62 appearances last season, including the playoffs. Skinner was 29-14-5 with a 2.75 goals-against average and .914 save percentage. Vancouver is in somewhat of a rebuild after finishing 38-37-7, especially on the defensive side as the Canucks drafted four defensemen in the first seven picks. They do have some firepower with Elias Pettersson, who had a team-leading 102 points, along with J.T. Miller and Andrei Kuzmenko. Thatcher Demko had a 14-14-4 record in net and a 3.16 GAA and missed 35 games due to injury. The Oilers have won seven of the past eight meetings and they won 10 of their final 13 road games. Edmonton is 54-22 against Pacific Division opponents and it has won the past five meetings at Vanvouver. Make it a Max Play on the Oilers.
