Last year's disaster is behind them so Edmonton is turning over a new leaf anchored by the top pick in the draft in Connor McDavid. He collected a stunning 120 points in 47 games with Erie of the Ontario Hockey League last season. The addition of 28-year-old goalie Cam Talbot will help the defense, too. St. Louis is home and favored, but the last time they played a meaningful game they got dumped in the first round of the playoffs for the third consecutive season. St. Louis' primary question resides in goal, with Brian Elliott getting the nod on Thursday before presumably platooning with Jake Allen for the rest of the campaign. The Blues are just 1-8 when playing on three or more days rest, so grab the upgraded big dog and play Edmonton.
