While just a one goal win yesterday, San Jose was in control as Edmonton didn't look like the same team that upset Detroit. As I said yesterday, an eigth seed can only keep up that amazing level of play so long. And I think Edmonton's run is likely over. San Jose is now 20-9 vs. winning teams in the second half of this season including the playoffs and 22-9 vs. teams that score 3+ goals per game. Edmonton seems to have run out of steam. THey are averaging just 24.5 shots per game during the playoffs (versus 33.5 for San Jose). Given similar conversions, that's a big big difference if that continues to play out. Combine that with the Sharks' great defense (1.8 goals per game in playoffs) and we have a recipe for another San Jose win.
