Calgary will look to avenge a 7-4 loss to the Oilers in the season opener when Connor McDavid scored twice and added an assist. The Flames recorded two short-handed goals from Troy Brouwer and Michael Frolik but Brian Elliott needs to improve on his performance in goal, although he did have 21 saves. Calgary has won four of its last five home games against Edmonton and the Flames won three of the last four meetings overall last season. The Oilers finished in seventh place and still have a long way to go after a controversial trade that sent forward Taylor Hall to New Jersey for defenseman Adam Larsson.
