Two terrrible defenses clash here meaning anything can happen. Edmonton is allowing 3.0 goals per game on the season while Atlanta is allowing 3.4 per game. Over their last five games, they are allowing 3.6 and 3.8, respectively. Their offenses are equal. But, we like Edmonton here. The Oilers are 6-1 this season on the road vs. poor teams (those getting outscored by 0.3+ goals per game). They are 10-5 on the road the past three seasons vs. poor offensive teams (those averaging under 27 shots per game). They are also 7-3 this season after allowing 4+ goals in two straight games. And, over the past three seasons, Atlanta is 7-01 on the road after two games in which 8+ total goals were scored. Meanwhile, the Thrashers are just 4-13 the past two seasons at home when coming off a 2+ goal loss.
