Detroit at Washington

We have quite the early-season matchup going in Washington tonight as the 5-0 Red Wings take on the 6-0 Capitals. Both teams have been flawless to open the season, but that will likely end for one of these clubs tonight. The Caps finished last season with a 53-28 mark to the UNDER, and in a playoffs-caliber game tonight, they will rely on the back side of the ice to bring this one home. The Red Wings aren’t too shabby either on the defensive end, as they have allowed a total of 2 goals in their two road games this season. The Capitals are now a ridiculous 44-14-1 to the UNDER in their last 59 as a favorite, including 8-0 to the UNDER when they scored 5+ in their previous game. Similarly, Detroit is now bowing their backs, facing a team off of 5+ at 5-1 to the UNDER in their last six. A defensive battle is on in Washington, so the UNDER gets the call for my NHL Game of the Month.
