Detroit, after starting 3-5, has gone on to win eight straight. Vancouver has dropped five of six. The Red Wings offense has yet to really make a statement but on defense, they are nearly inpenatrable. Detroit has allowed 1.9 goals per game, posted two straight shutouts and have allowed 2 or less in six straight contests. Great matchup for them vs. the Canucks who can't score (averaging 2.3 per game on the year and 1.6 over their last five games while allowing 3.6). History tells us that Detroit's momentum should spill over nicely for them into this game. Teams that are off two straight 3+ goal wins facing a team that has scored 2 or less in two straight games are 20-6 (77%) over the past five seasons. What about a Detroit letdown? Nahhh. The Wings are 22-4 on the road vs. losing teams the past two seasons. They are also 17-4 on the road following two straight wins. Wings here at a very nice price given the circumstances.
